Guilford County Detention Centers

Guilford County runs three jail sites. The Guilford County Sheriff's Office oversees all of them. Sheriff Danny Rogers leads the department from the main office at 400 West Washington Street in Greensboro, NC 27401. The Greensboro Detention Center opened in 2012. It uses a podular design with direct staff supervision to manage the inmate population. This facility alone holds up to 1,032 people. Its average daily count sits near 690 inmates.

The High Point Detention Center is at 507 East Green Drive, High Point, NC 27260. It holds about 274 inmates. Captain J. Sellers leads detention center operations across the county. The third site is the Sheriff's Prison Farm near Gibsonville. Combined, all three sites give Guilford County a total rated capacity of 1,302 beds. Staff process close to 19,000 bookings each year, making this one of the busiest jail systems in the state.
